Hi Brandon. Thanks for your thoughts and feedback. I appreciate it. FYI my opponent in the state senate race received more real estate/developer funding than I did. She largely received those funds from out of state real estate interests and developers doing business in her district. So read what you will into my fundraising — which was overwhelmingly small contributions from San Francisco residents (in contrast to my opponent, who raised much of her money outside of San Francisco, even when you exclude the national money Bernie Sanders raised for her) — but it’s important to view the complete context and not cherry pick.

Regarding Rafael, he’s entitled to take whatever positions he wants. The main point of my piece was that he should forge his own path rather than try to pretend that he’s following in my path, which he is not. We certainly have our agreements, but on some pretty significant issues we have real differences, in addition to the fact that it’s odd that Rafael would talk about me the way he has when he’s not been a supporter of mine.
